Welcome to the Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association (NEOSWA)! This new Chapter consists of woodland owners in Baker, Grant, Union, and Wallowa Counties. We aim to hold regular meetings, tours, programs, and other educational opportunities to support small woodland owners and our communities.
Our meetings are usually held the first Thursday of every-other month from 6:00-8:00 PM, with the first hour consisting of our Board meeting, and the second hour the member meeting. 2021 NEOSWA Neighbor to Neighbor Tour
On Saturday, October 30th, NEOSWA hosted our very first big event as a new Chapter, and it was a huge success! The Neighbor-to-Neighbor Tour was hosted by the Defrees Family at their ranch outside of Baker City, and featured several engaging stops and presentations, covering topics such as water development, managing for wildlife, forest management, cost-share programs, and balancing timber and livestock enterprises. The event brought over 50 small woodland owners, friends, neighbors, family, and professionals to enjoy the beautiful weather, great speakers, and a fantastic lunch. Thank you to everyone who attended, helped plan and coordinate the event, and an even bigger than you to the Defrees for being such gracious hosts. We also want to thank the Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI), OSWA, and OSU Extension for sponsoring the event.
